ARIZONA AND NEW MEXICO – Law enforcement agencies from across Arizona, from Show Low through Greenlee County into New Mexico, are working in conjunction with federal authorities regarding multiple cases of vandalism and property damage spread throughout a vast area.

The vandalism contains politically motivated speech and includes damage to private property, as well as state property and natural areas.

In Arizona, the vandals spray-painted Forest Service signs and tagged rocks, bridges, and buildings. They also reportedly tore down American flags and damaged government property.

In New Mexico, vandals targeted sections of Socorro, Sierra, Grant, and Cibola counties, primarily damaging water systems, fences, and gates on both public and private land.

Authorities believe the vandalism may have started on Saturday. Anyone with any information regarding the crimes is encouraged to call their local law enforcement agency.
