The following are local contested race results for the General Election.
Fort Thomas School Board
Cathie “SAS” Hawkins was elected with 163 votes; Chris Kelliher was elected with 117 votes; and Robert Olivar Jr. was elected with 89 votes.
Pima School Board
Incumbents JJ Alder (1,338 votes), Clint Colvin (1,107 votes), and Melissa Batty (1,071 votes) won re-election.
Safford School Board
As of Tuesday evening’s initial vote release with three seats available, Kevin England led with 2,602 votes, followed by Tyler Attaway with 2,533 votes, and Jodi McGinty with 2,519 votes, with Eric Whisman on the outside with 2,205 votes.
Thatcher School Board
Two-year seat: Travis Smith (1,841 votes) was elected over Elizabeth Henley (1,158 votes).
Four-year seats: (Four open) As of Tuesday night’s initial release, Susan Hancock led with 1,884 votes, followed by Kate McCluskey with 1,814 votes, and Debbie Chapman with 1,803 votes, with Adam Bingham on the outside with 1,771 votes.
Safford City Council
Alma Flores (1,507 votes) was elected to the city council over Luke Chavez (988 votes).
EAC Board Member District 4
Tina McMaster won re-election with 1,400 votes. Others receiving votes included Bob Rivera with 707 votes, and Eric Bejarano with 664 votes.
EAC Board Member District 5
Vince Kieffer won the election with 909 votes. Others receiving votes included Brant Mattice with 723 votes and Brandon Reed with 529 votes.
Proposition 402 EAC Base Expenditure Limitation Adjustment
The vote to approve the adjustment was successful by a vote of 9,094 for just 2,295 against.
