This place is super fun, definitely something different. Seating on the patio or to go containers. When you are ready, ring the bell. I went for the silly name, who knew it was going to be one of the best sandwiches I've eaten. You pick your protein, so I picked catfish, and got the one with slaw and tots on the side. Love me some coleslaw, they could package this stuff up and sell it, it was that amazing. Definitely a must stop if you are in the area!!
I don’t think the Salty Heifer is a perfect five-star affair, despite the 177 reviews that say otherwise. That seems a bit inflated. But it’s certainly a solid four. The patio is a relaxing place to sit in the shade, despite the industrial issue, airplane-engine-sized fan keeping us all cool. But I’d rather stay comfort than roast on a hot afternoon as temps soared to 92°F during my visit. So it’s all good. I ordered the green chile grilled cheese. A sandwich that features pepper jack cheese and green chiles on buttery sourdough, it sounds pretty darn good on paper. But the pepper jack was very bland and the green chiles were lost in the sandwich. It was still tasty and the crispy edges on the bread were nice! However, the tater tots side dish that seemed so innocuous at first were actually the star of the show! They might be the best I’ve ever had! Tender on the inside, perfectly crunchy on the outside, and seasoned with this amazing spice blend, the Salty Heifer has created the perfect tots! I highly recommend them!
First time here with the family. Cool spot they have here outdoor dining. Food was great, good quality food fs. For 50 bucks? A burger with fries chicken strips and tots and a side of Mac and cheese. Im not sure but then again in this economy???..i get it. I wasn't like "omg it was so good NEED to come back" tho. Good customer service. The older lady was a little inpatient but I think its because they were very busy. Don't be fooled when it says "refillable drinks" they mean only 1 drink is refillable not all of the $3.99 "refillable" drinks that they have on their menu. So if you order 2 refillable drinks only 1 of those is "refillable" honestly thought that was false advertisement. This is my honest opinion. Still tho it gets 4 stars.
Was looking for a place to eat while in town on a work trip and saw this place. Had five stars with quite a few reviews and was curious if it lived up to it. I got the catfish basket, food came out pretty quickly. The staff was very nice, and the food was really good. Fries were fresh, hot and crispy and well seasoned and the catfish filet was huge and tasted great. I would definitely come back again.
A little weird to get into the place and place your order. You have to go to the entrance to a bar to get in. Then you ring a door bell on the converted shipping container to place your order. We sat in the covered patio area to eat. It was very very quiet for a Friday night at dinner time. But the burgers were out of this world!!! They were so flavorful and juicy!!! They onion rings and tator tots were perfection!!! We met the owner/cook while we were eating and let her know how much we truly enjoyed the food. Only downfall to me is that she is not open on the weekend other wise I think we may have eaten there each night we stayed in town!!!
