"Family owned and operated, El Coronado Restaurant has been a Safford staple since 1981. Now under new ownership, we serve real Mexican food along with American comfort classics. Everything is homemade in our scratch kitchen, and each dish comes with large portions. Think street-style tacos, menudo, green chile burgers, and delicious breakfast items to start your day off right. We offer this town something a little different, and we hope you’ll join us!"

We were just passing through town and looking for a place to eat something local and truly delicious when we happened to find El Coronado Family Restaurant. What a wonderful surprise it turned out to be! Honestly, it’s hard to put into words how delicious the food was. Everything tasted fresh, authentic, and made with real care. But what made the experience even more special was the incredible kindness of the people working there. They were actually closing at 1:00 PM, and we arrived just two minutes before closing. Instead of turning us away, they welcomed us in with genuine warmth and generosity, even though they were technically already closed. Their positive attitude, big smiles, and sincere desire to make sure we had a great meal made us feel truly appreciated as guests. The whole experience was simply perfect — amazing food, a friendly and welcoming team, and a clean, comfortable, and inviting atmosphere. Thank you so much for your kindness and hospitality. This was such a joyful and memorable experience, and we will absolutely remember it whenever we think of great food and wonderful people. Lena Lipavsky New York.

I haven't eaten here in over 10 years because it's one of those quiet Hometown restaurants tucked away downtown. We stopped eating out as much also but a friend gave out gift cards for local businesses for Christmas which I will start doing also, it helps everyone! It took a little while to get our food but it was worth the wait. The chips and salsa are $4 but the green salsa is addicting, it was so good. My tacos were so full of shredded beef, I could only finish two of three. They were very good as well as the rice and beans. My husband ordered an omelet and really enjoyed it. The fried potatoes are home-cooked style like my mom used to make, so I keep stealing a few bites. All in all, the food is home cooked style with good portions and worth the wait. We will definitely be back to this little gem!

Super cute place! Friendly servers, and really good food!! I had ham, eggs, potatoes with a tortilla. It was very tasty. It's $4 extra for chips and salsa, but it's worth it. The salsa also paired really well with the the breakfast. Just be aware it is a small kitchen, so there may be a wait to be seated. I did see 3 different parties come in and leave after seeing sign that stated 35 min wait. The hostess should have explained why there was a wait. She seemed busy doing homework or something.

I've only been here two times but the food is great and service is even better. Their pancakes are huge and I love their salsa. Their restaurant is very clean and I like to go there for breakfast.
