NOGALES, Arizona — U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Nogales Port of Entry seized more than 120 pounds of methamphetamine in two enforcement actions.

“Our frontline officers’ ability to apply training, inspection experience, and technology allowed them to zero in and take down a couple of significant drug loads,” said Acting Port Director Jose Acuna, Senior Official Performing the Duties of Area Port Director at Nogales Port of Entry. “Our streets are safer thanks to the dedication of our CBP officers.”

On March 10, CBP officers working at the Mariposa Crossing seized nearly 44 pounds of methamphetamine concealed in a 2007 Acura RL. A scan with a nonintrusive inspection system and a closer physical examination revealed 32 packages containing the narcotics in the back seat of the vehicle. CBP seized the narcotics and the vehicle.
