City of Safford Gas Customers Planned Maintenance Notice

Please be advised that Kinder Morgan, the operator of the interstate natural gas transmission pipeline, will be conducting planned purging operations on their lines tomorrow morning (July 16, 2026). This work will take place in the area of El Paso Blvd and 8th Avenue, with Kinder Morgan personnel on-site.

During this time, it is possible that some residents in the surrounding area may notice a faint smell of natural gas. City of Safford Gas Division crews will be actively monitoring pressures and odorant levels throughout the day to ensure our local system remains completely safe and normal.

If you suspect a true natural gas leak (a strong, distinct sulfur/rotten egg odor, a hissing sound, or blowing dirt near gas infrastructure), please leave the area immediately and call 911 and the City of Safford Gas Division at (928) 432-4200.
