SAFFORD — Safford Police arrested 50-year-old Jeremy Thomas Blok on Wednesday after he allegedly emerged from a tent under the 8th Avenue Bridge and threatened a group of young people working in nearby cotton fields with an axe.
According to police dispatch records, the incident occurred around 8:17 a.m. on June 24 near W. Reclamation Way and N. 8th Avenue. The property owner reported that six juveniles were chopping cotton when a homeless male came out with an axe and threatened them. Officers located the area near the bridge where the confrontation took place. The suspect reportedly emerged from a tent and approached the group while armed.
Blok was arrested and booked into the Graham County Adult Detention Facility on charges of disorderly conduct with a deadly weapon and misconduct involving weapons as a prohibited possessor. Authorities noted that Blok has prior infractions that bar him from possessing deadly weapons.
Court records show Blok was already on probation following an Aug. 26, 2025, sentencing for attempted unlawful means of transportation, DUI, aggravated DUI, and possession of drug paraphernalia. A petition to revoke his probation was filed on June 25 in connection with the new allegations.
Blok made his initial appearance on the fresh charges Thursday, June 25, when bond was set at $25,000.
