SAFFORD — On Tuesday, April 22, the public is invited to Mount Graham Safe House’s “Walk a Mile in Her Shoes” event in honor of Sexual Awareness Month.
The event will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. on the front lawn of the Graham County Courthouse, 8th Avenue and Main Street.
According to a press release from the Mt. Graham Safe House, “the gathering encourages men to wear women’s shoes to gain insight into the challenges women face when it comes to acknowledging and discussing sexual assault.”
“By stepping into women’s shoes, participants can better understand the experiences and emotions associated with this important issue,” said Brandy Burnett, outreach coordinator for Mt. Graham Safe House.
In addition to gaining valuable insight, participants could also walk away with some valuable swag. Those who join the event can win a Blackstone 36-inch, 4-burner grill and air fryer combination. Only male participants who walk will be eligible for the drawing.
“We truly appreciate your support for everything we do at the Mt. Graham Safe House,” Burnett said. “Hope to see you there.”
