PUERTO PENASCO, MEXICO – A recreational vehicle (RV) accident resulted in material damage but no injuries after the driver pressed the accelerator instead of the brake.

Lázaro Hernández Bravo, Commissioner of Municipal Public Safety, reported that the incident occurred on the morning of Saturday, Nov. 23, in the Playa Bonita Trailer Park area of Puerto Peñasco (Rocky Point).

According to Hernández Bravo, the RV driver was maneuvering to park in a seaside space within the trailer park when he apparently stepped on the accelerator by mistake.

As a result, the RV crashed through a concrete barrier and came to rest on the beach. Fortunately, no one was injured. The driver, a U.S. citizen whose identity was not disclosed, emerged unscathed, and the damages were relatively minor thanks to the swift response to the situation.

Heavy machinery and support from personnel from the Federal Maritime Terrestrial Zone (ZOFEMAT) of the Municipal Government were used to remove the RV from the beach and return it to the appropriate parking area within the trailer park.

The establishment’s owners were present and confirmed there were no significant disruptions. They also agreed with the foreign tourist regarding repairing the damages caused by the incident.
