The City of Safford would like to remind everyone to use extra caution as recent monsoon storms have increased water flows throughout our area.

While many washes, ditches, canals, and low-water crossings may appear calm, conditions can change quickly. Fast-moving water is powerful and unpredictable, and even a small amount can sweep away a vehicle or knock a person off their feet.

If you encounter water covering a roadway, remember: Turn Around, Don’t Drown. Never drive or walk through floodwaters, and keep children and pets away from flowing water.
