The City of Safford is proud to celebrate the incredible impact of the Light the World Giving Machines and the generosity of our community.

This past holiday season, thousands of acts of kindness came together to make a real difference. In just 23 days, $143,000 was donated, with 100% of every dollar going directly to charities.
Right here in the Gila Valley, those donations are already making an impact. Last night at the City of Safford Council meeting, the contributions of our community were celebrated:

• St. Vincent de Paul received over $19,000, helping provide housing assistance, clothing, and basic needs

• SEACUS received over $17,000, supporting seniors with meals, caregiving, and wellness services

• Our Neighbors Farm & Pantry received over $27,000, helping feed families and support food security efforts

In total, more than 2,000 items were purchased locally, each one representing a direct act of kindness that will continue to ripple through our community.

This effort reflects what makes our community special. Neighbors helping neighbors.

We are grateful to everyone who donated, volunteered, and supported this effort. The impact will be felt for months to come.
