🌟 Did You Know, Safford? 🌟

As part of our FY24-25 Accomplishments, the City of Safford Gas Department had a standout year and continues to strengthen the services our community relies on every day.

Here are a few accomplishments worth celebrating:

🔥 Secured more than $1.24 million in grant funding to upgrade equipment and replace aging meters, which also supports two new full time positions.
🔥 Passed the Arizona Corporation Commission audit with zero findings across safety, emergency response, and compliance.
🔥 Completed more than 776 work orders and responded to 132 odor calls and 9 emergency gas strikes to keep our community safe.
🔥 Replaced gas mains, updated equipment that was in service for nearly 90 years, and installed more than 3,000 feet of new gas line.
🔥 Launched a customer rebate program that saved residents more than $2,000.
🔥 Provided comprehensive operational and technical support to more than 10 regional entities, including municipalities, utilities, tribal authorities, and government agencies. Support included logistics such as parts and equipment, specialized technical skills such as welding and directional boring, and workforce assistance through procedures and training.
