City of Safford Announces End of Grand Canyon Scenic Airlines Service at Safford Regional Airport

SAFFORD, AZ — Grand Canyon Scenic Airlines will be ending scheduled airline service between Safford Regional Airport and Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport on Sunday, September 14th, 2025 due to the depletion of the Minimum Revenue Guarantee funding that supported this service.

Until airline service ends, passengers are encouraged to take advantage of $49 fares on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays and $99 fares on weekdays. Grand Canyon Scenic Airlines’ customer service team members will contact passengers holding any remaining ticket vouchers and those with flights booked beyond September 14th to coordinate refunds.

Over the last nine months, Grand Canyon Scenic Airlines has provided an exceptional level of service with a 95% on-time performance record and zero controllable cancellations. The City of Safford has enjoyed an amazing relationship with Grand Canyon Scenic Airlines and looks forward to the opportunity to re-initiate service if funding becomes available through the State of Arizona or another grant funding source.
