The Rural Policy Forum has officially arrived in the Gila Valley!

Yesterday, we welcomed some early attendees with a five-hour tour highlighting the best of our region. Around 50 participants explored Eastern Arizona College, Mt. Graham Regional Medical Center, DRG Technologies, the Safford Airport, and our historic Main Street. It was a fantastic kickoff for our visitors!

Today, the main events begin at Eastern Arizona College with welcome messages from Town of Thatcher Mayor Howard, and City of Safford Vice-Mayor Lopez, as rural leaders, community advocates, and economic development professionals from across the state come together.

The evening will wrap up with a special event on historic Main Street in Safford, showcasing our local charm and hospitality.

Please note that Main Street from The Venue to Ginaveve’s will be closed around 3 p.m., along with 5th Avenue from 7th Street to Main Street. During the closure, feel free to visit the area and shop and eat as normal business hours remain.
