🎉 City Council Recap – July 14, 2025 🎉

Last night, the Safford City Council met to discuss several key items impacting our community, including the adoption of the City’s Fiscal Year 2025–2026 Final Budget. 💰✅

Mayor and Council were also honored to be joined by Town of Pima Vice Mayor Bailey and Town Manager Vernon Batty, who expressed heartfelt thanks to the City of Safford for stepping up during Pima’s recent pool pump challenges. When their pool was out of service, Safford graciously made arrangements to host more than 80 Pima swimmers so their season could continue without missing a beat. After three weeks, the Town of Pima was able to reopen their pool!

In a heartwarming moment, “little swimmers” from the Town of Pima presented Mayor and Council with a plaque of appreciation to thank the City of Safford for their support. 🏆💙

Mayor Richard Ortega echoed Vice Mayor Bailey’s appreciation, stating:
“That’s what being good neighbors are all about.”

Other highlights from the meeting included:

📌 Support for the Local First Arizona 2025 Summer Block Party
📌 Equipment upgrades for the Police Department and utility services
📌 Contract awarded for the Hollywood Road Improvements Project
📌 Several key resolutions adopted to strengthen operations and partnerships
