This morning, City of Safford emergency services — including Police, Fire, and Gas Department personnel — responded to a serious gas leak at a local residence. Upon arrival, our teams quickly contained the situation and successfully repaired the damaged line. Thankfully, no injuries occurred.

Upon review, it was determined that the residents were digging a trench and accidentally struck an underground gas line. While this incident could have had devastating consequences, swift action helped prevent a tragedy.
