🔧 From 1936 to Today – Progress in Action 🔧

Earlier this week, our Gas Department took part in advanced training on tapping and line-stopping gas lines—critical procedures that help maintain the safety and reliability of our utility services.
While reviewing our equipment, we shared a piece of history with the trainer: our original tapping and stopping gear from 1936, which had been in active use until yesterday. Still in pristine condition after nearly 90 years, this equipment was officially retired this week!

This marks another step forward as the City of Safford continues to invest in updated tools and training to improve public safety, boost efficiency, and support our hardworking team.
